Cayson and his quirks at 2 years old

Image
It’s very funny to hear a barely two year old shout “Wait” when we are walking too fast for him or he think we are leaving him behind , or “Quick!” when we are too slow.  I don’t recall he knows as many vocab as Cayen when he’s young but his comprehension of things and sentence making seems quite advanced. That day, teacher asked him for help to keep something as he’s usually helpful and obliging. But he said, “ No.” Surprised, teacher asked him why not. He replied, “ Bad Mood!” Teacher rolled over in laughter.  I didn’t know how or where he learned it from. But I suspected the dinosaur book as I read about the dinosaur being in a bad mood when he wakes up in the morning. But how did he even what bad mood is ? Beats me.  Other notable phases are: “my scooter”, “I like baby shark”, “I like Ah Saur (dinosaur)”, “thank you Ah Ma”, “I like this”.  And for such a small kid, he doesn’t like small things. If Ah Po cuts his apple into small bite sized pieces, he will fuss and refuse it because

I was not so sure what to expect. Touchwood but there wasn’t much complaint or feedback from teachers this year so I had hoped no news is good news.  General feedback. No problem with work as per normal. Does his work very fast but because he’s so fast, he has no one to play with so he will have to go to drawing corner to draw. Very creative in his drawings as he concocts his own stuff. Same goes for compositions where Teacher says his stories are quite interesting and reflects actual life though he still needs to work on making them coherent as he may jump from idea to idea.  His chinese work is surprisingly very neat and tidy (compared to what I saw at home). Apparently the Chinese Teacher worked out that since he always writes fast so he can finish fast , but she would erase his work until it is of the right quality. Once he figured out that he can’t squirm out of it, he started to write properly. The same teacher also observed that because of the same 小聪明 and some laziness,he would

Cayson likes to hi-five his friends when he goes home every day. Yesterday, he tried to hi-five a friend but she didn’t want, so she tried to dodge.  Teacher saw it and tried to console Cayson that it’s ok if she didn’t want to hi-five. Cayson said, “ No... I missed!” And he tried to try again. At this moment, teacher literally laughed out loud.  Nowadays at night, Cayen and Cayson will play a bit before they sleep. Last night was  “shooting” and hiding the dinosaurs where they took turns to hide and seek. It’s a whole load of fun but I feel so tired just watching them. Youth and Energy.

Cayson is 23 months old

We just went for meet-the-parents session for Cayson and it’s quite amazing how 5 months have just passed like that. The insights from teachers are quite similar to what we see at home, brave and trying to try everything, loves reading, loves animals and generally very cheerful and happy.  He’s very independent in school and even want to try to take off his own pants, diapers and wipe his own butt. He also tries to eat on his own using utensils though sometimes he still uses fingers. He likes to try everything including the big trikes/bikes. He no longer needs to be parted to bed, he will just sleep on his own after milk , even though it could still be noisy.  The only bad thing is that he likes to pick up dropped food from the floor (yikes) and eat it even though he has clean food on his bowl. He likes chicken but sometimes instead of asking for more, he will take them directly from his friend’s bowl (oh no!) . Lastly, he likes to drink water from the floor (??). Well, those are areas
