Cayson is 22 months - early signs of terrible twos

All along we thought Cayson is the easier going one.. after all he eats everything he’s given and he’s so obliging usually.

But something seemed to have changed this month. He’s demonstrated his strong will many a times that he reminds me of Cayen’s early days.

Instead of eating anything now, he now doesn’t even eat breakfast . He also selectively finishes his lunch and dinner. It’s gotta be yummy. A deep fried chicken wing won’t do, it has to be grilled or the steamed Boon Tong Kee kind.

Instead of wearing anything that we choose for him, he now knows what he doesn’t want to wear and what he wants to wear.

Instead of sitting cooperatively in his car seat, he now puts on a daily struggle and delay me for 5-10 minutes. (I managed to crack this by playing the Baby shark song).

He will also go to the fridge and open the door on his own (yes he’s that strong!) and pull out whatever he wants to eat or drink.

All these seems to be early signs of the terrible twos, where he now wants a lot of control and make decisions. If he doesn’t get his way, he will whine, cry and fight with Cayen too. And since he’s quite chunky, he is quite a force to reckon with, literally.

On a lighter note, for things he like, he will say , “ wooh ... nice! Baby want ! ” This is quite hilarious coming for a barely two year old.

He likes to sing a lot. Now he will try to sing old Mac Donald have a farm and we will sing our version with a baby that goes Haha! He will also remind me to sing about the crocodile when I sing the usual “row row your boat”. And he will feign a scream “argh!” when I sing the lyrics ...” if you see a crocodile, don’t forget to scream”.

That day I just added my own spin of  “lalalalalala” when I read about a girl who can sing well. He mimicked me right away. I think he mimics very well.

Today, ah Pa also realised he has a great sense of direction. Though we last went to the place one month ago for dim sum, he managed to direct Ah Pa back to the toy shop that they went to that time.

Words of the month : Mine ! I like!

As he grows bigger , pickier, cheekier and more strong willed, he’s becoming more and more like Cayen or perhaps a more formidable version. Let’s see.
