Journey to infinity

Image
I read about some lush virtual rainforest thing at Art Science museum last week and so we headed there last Saturday as the pictures look cool. However, it was a little of a disappointment as it was all viewed via the handheld tablet. Being an ex Pokemon Go player (even if it's for two days), I wasn't that impressed . Cayen was sufficiently impressed as he could see animals popping up depending on where he turned. Since we were there, I decided to check out the exhibition called "Journey to infinity" since Cayen likes the word infinity. The queue was superbly long as we were there at 2pm plus - bad idea . However, since my MBS membership card (anyone can apply for free) gives 1 for 1 tickets, I decided to join the horrible queue. (Online purchase will allow one to skip the queue actually.) Anyway, we finally entered the museum after 30 minutes of queuing. I was very intrigued by the exhibits but I had to zoom at record speed as Cayson wasn't into the ...

Children's festival at the National Museum

Image
Started the morning at the museum and Cayen was thrilled to play the snake and ladder game. He also enjoyed the art station when he got to paint his own animal.  However, we had to end our adventure soon after he went to the last puzzle station because he couldn't wait for his turn to play and had snatched the tiles from two other kids (he even hit one of them). Hence, we picked him up despite his protests and left to show him that he cannot play if he cannot wait / share.

Cayen loves SAM

Image
This was our second visit to SAM at 8Q .. Once again, they have very interesting exhibits for children and offers a nice alternative to spending time at indoor play gyms. First section involves some mega Tetris looking blocks for kids to arrange ( like Lego) and that station kept Cayen busy for nearly an hour. It's funny to see the dynamics amongst the kids - Cayen is OCD about arranging his blocks neatly to supplement the "bridge" structure, this older boy was bent on destroying the bridge n structure, and how some older western kids were bent on climbing on top of the "bridge".  Then, there was the room where you can cycle to generate lights and sounds (think kinetic energy) .  And this "garden" where you can hang colourful balls just like how you would on a Christmas tree. This must be Cayen's favourite activity because he says "I love here!" And this giant jigsaw puzzle was very interesting as well because one can arr...

Touristy stuff in Singapore

Image
A lot of people says Singapore is boring. Actually I don't think so .. The key is whether are you adventurous enough to explore every nook and corner. I find there the motivation is much higher now with Cayen around as we would somehow find the energy to do so despite how long or tough the week has been. To start the day, we had wanted to have brunch. And due to my stubborn insistence to try something new (as life is short),  we landed at this Madame Pattiserie cafe at boat quay (courtesy of Ah Pa) that has very nice interior design and even a children area of toys. I really love the design but unfortunately as we didn't order much desserts, which were its signature, I didn't leave having a great rating on her other food. The burger was decent , the breakfast was alright but the spaghetti bolognaise left much to be desired. The strawberry cake was a little to sour for my liking. Overall, it's an interesting place to hang out, service is very good, I may go the...
