Parent Meet Teacher Session time

We had Cayson Parents Meet Teacher session last Saturday. As usual, it was a breeze as teachers were full of compliments as he was very easy to handle.  Here’s some highlights :

  • He’s very observant. If they play any games where they hide stickers or objects, he usually will find 7-8 out of 10 items in the whole class.
  • He’s able to empathise. One time when a friend was unhappy, he went over to try to play with her. But she was still angry as another girl friend didn’t want to play with her, so Cayson asked her “why?”
  • He knows how to share very well. When he overheard his friend telling the teacher that he want to play with a toy (that Cayson is holding on to), he went to pass it to his friend automatically without anyone asking.
  • He’s able to speak in full Chinese sentences, and tell a short story.
  • He’s able to 举一反三..so he learns very fast and will ask related question. If he learns something today, tomorrow he will be able to relate if a similar thing comes up. If there’s something he doesn’t understand in a book, he will keep asking why and probing till he gets it.
  • He’s getting more adventurous with food. He will have some tea now and even some cake now. Previously he doesn’t really take cake or cream at all. He still doesn’t like barley but he likes chrysanthemum tea.
  • His motor skills are very good too, except jumping with two feet together.
  • His artistic and musical sense are very good. He can compose his art ie choose his own colours and design it. Usually he will design most things into dinosaurs.
  • He’s very affectionate. He likes to hug the teacher , and sometimes from behind too. He will ask them if they like him too.
  • He likes to talk a lot about what’s happening in the family. When teacher tells a story about father or mother, he will remind them not to forget to talk about brother and the rest of the family members.
  • When asked how he comes to school every day, he would say “his family bring him”. It’s funny because Ah Gong, Ah Pa and I would ride with him every day and he seemed real proud of this.
  • He’s very persistent, he will keep on trying if he wants to do something.
  • He’s fully toilet trained in school now so we just need to remind him at home.
His process this month at home:

I would teach him to say “have a good day” , “see you soon” , “see you tonight” when I drop every morning.

That day, he told Ah Gong, “have a good mahjong!” Haha.

I was doing UAT over the weekend for the rebrand cutover. After he saw after one whole day, he ran into his arms excitedly , held my head , pulled it towards him and gave me a big kiss on my lips, as though I never saw him for a year. Absence seemed to really make the heart grow fonder.
