21 months and rocking

It's been 3 months since he started school and already I can see the positive effects. For instance, he will sprout 一二三 and 1,2,3 everytime he knows that counting is due or when he sees numbers. He will also say "push" and "pull" at the right timings, though I am upset when he actually pushes me and says "push!" when he's upset or don't get his way. But at least the idea is there.

He will also say "paste" when I give him stickers or anything that looks sticky. They must do a lot of pasting in school.

His vocabulary expanded this month to include short sentences . From simply “谢谢”,it's now "谢谢阿婆”. In fact that day, he "complained" to Ah Pa when he woke up crying at night that "Ah Pa, nei nei (milk). Mama, water". I guess I was mistaken for giving him water as I had diluted the milk as he seemed to have some cough. Or it could be because I didn't give him more milk (and only remnant milk) since he just had a full bottle one hour ago. But yea, he can complain now. Haha.

That day at a soft toy shop, he said, "Baby buy!" (He sure starts young!).

Other cute vocabulary that's trending is "baby try" , "ah ma try" ... hope he continues his positive mindset of trying everything no matter how tough it looks. Yesterday he tried his first egg hunt. The idea was there for the initial part as he picked the eggs though he started to put leaves and twigs into his bag later on .

He's also king of making funny sounds. That day he was playing pretend with his cleaning brushes and spray can : he made the spraying sound with his mouth whilst performing his task . Super funny !

His song of the month is "Old Macdonald has a farm" though he calls it " E ya e ya o ". After I reinvented the lyrics to include a baby version  too, he would like to try for the baby version too where it goes ".. and on his farm he had a baby, e ya e ya o. And a Haha here, and a haha there, here ha, there ha, everywhere haha" . He would request for "baa baa black sheep" too.

This month he tried two indoor playgrounds and the Art Zoo bouncing castles. He was completely fearless and gung-ho as usual. He could also climb up the playground stairs as of today though it was not so steady. In the indoor playground, he swerved among the hanging bags, (calling them dai which is bolster in hokkien) at top speed and without hitting him and easily cross the "river" on a beam. He's quite a commando like that.

He also has a fan now in school, this little girl who will follow him everywhere, and will cry when Cayson leaves for the day (apparently they are the only two who is full day).

And apparently , Cayson is quite cheerful and friendly in school. The new school principal said that he will say "hello" to all the visitors when she brings them around - quite a poster boy I must say .. haha . And when his friends fall down or cry, he will go and pat pat them and hug them. What a sweet child !

Introduced him to the cards matching game and was surprised that he could match the animals and the vehicles pretty well. He's got a good eye for pattern. I noticed that even from seeing the back view of characters, he could tell if they are male or female (as he would say they are papa or mama correctly).
