Cayen loves SAM

This was our second visit to SAM at 8Q .. Once again, they have very interesting exhibits for children and offers a nice alternative to spending time at indoor play gyms.

First section involves some mega Tetris looking blocks for kids to arrange ( like Lego) and that station kept Cayen busy for nearly an hour. It's funny to see the dynamics amongst the kids - Cayen is OCD about arranging his blocks neatly to supplement the "bridge" structure, this older boy was bent on destroying the bridge n structure, and how some older western kids were bent on climbing on top of the "bridge".

Then, there was the room where you can cycle to generate lights and sounds (think kinetic energy) .

And this "garden" where you can hang colourful balls just like how you would on a Christmas tree. This must be Cayen's favourite activity because he says "I love here!"

And this giant jigsaw puzzle was very interesting as well because one can arrange many different possibilities.

There's also these interesting windows where you open up to see giant insects adorned with jewels which Cayen claimed he was scared of (when did he start to develop fear ?!) .

Then, there's this art and craft section where kids can create poms poms and weave. Cayen shamelessly went to the helpers to get many extra pieces of yarn but I think that's the right way - being thick skinned.

All in, I think it was a fun time at the museum as it's quite interactive and interesting and hopefully we all become a bit more creative after this. We need more of these in Singapore if we want to promote creativity and it has to start from young.

After the musuem , we went to the red dot space and saw an interesting architecture exhibition - didn't know we had such cool stuff in Singapore. I feel like a tourist in my own country but that's awesome. It goes to show that interesting stuff can be found anywhere , if you look hard enough.
