I was introduced to this blog train by my very longtime friend and neighbour Wenmei who is behind ( http://honeymarquise.wordpress.com/ ) I've always been described as highly energetic and driven, but I figure that Wenmei is one of those rare people who is that and more. She not only is a full time working professional, she also finds time to cook every day, care for her two toddler boys, write a blog, run an online store ( Paley and Love ), do her manicure, attend parties, and visit many places of interests with her family (sometimes all in one weekend)! So as part of this train, I'm supposed to answer four questions about myself and also to introduce four people I'm passing this but alas, I actually don't follow any blogs apart from Wenmei's though I do follow a few Facebook pages so I will introduce some of those instead. Q: What am I working on? A: Apart from my day job as a product manager in a bank, by night I will update this blog whi...
Cayson's key milestone this month was starting school. Now he has finally taken to school and his teachers (including the new one last week) and the auntie who dotes on him. He still doesn't like to take off his shoes at the checkpoint but that's about it. It's a little sad that his "best friend" has left but hopefully new friendships will be forged. Apparently, he likes to hide in books and corners, in boxes, enter prohibited areas, climb high and low, and purposely do the opposite of what's told in a teasing , charming way. At home, he continues to be very hardworking, fetching all our shoes for us when we are heading out. Perhaps he's scared we will sneak out without him unless he personally ensures that we get ready in his...
I think I’m starting to have an inkling on what tough it will be to send my boys off to army in future. Sending him to a 4 night camp was already quite a daunting experience. I was worried for him on so many fronts. How would he wake up in the morning if he couldn’t hear the alarm? How would he get along with three stranger roommates? How would he work in a big team for the hackathon when he’s amongst the youngest in the camp at 10 years (think the age range is from 10-18). How would he handle the laptop, iPad and iPhone without losing them? Would he know how to sign on to wifi? Lots of questions on my mind. Well, here was how the days went last week : Tuesday After our breakfast together, we went him off to D resort where all the kids will be staying. They will be ferried to NUS on a daily basis thereafter for their activities. I gave him a quick low down on how to use the phone and WhatsApp just in case since he doesn’t have a phone and only used it to play games....
