Goodbye 2017, Welcome 2018

With 2 kids now, 2017 flew past just like this.

For this year, on the personal front, I'm thankful that I have kept up with my goals of doing yoga and blogging once a week and have also sharpened the saw by completing three trainings - SEO, Adwords/Facebook marketing and also Cryptocurrency.

As for parenting, I have also read many articles and two books "The Whole Brain Child" and most recently "How to Talk so kids will Listen and How to Listen so kids will Talk". This , alongside reading children books modelling good behaviour , playing lots of board games and puzzles, music, sports, executive functioning skills training and journaling , is my comprehensive strategy to nurture my smart, strong willed and sometimes impulsive kid . While it's not perfect yet but there's certainly marked improvement in the last one year so we just gotta keep it up.

With Ah Pa's training , Cayen has also mastered Chinese Chess (the normal and the covered half board version), Uno , Sudoku and Mastermind. He has completed two semesters of piano training and done fairly well in two concerts. Despite being shy, he had also managed to get through with his school concert this year. And from being unable to sit through his Bobobear 1.5 hour lesson , he has now become a model student in class where he can concentrate really well.

As for Cayson, he has learnt to self feed quite well since 17-18 months old. He is a confident walker who also likes to dance and jiggle. He also expresses himself every well by gesturing and making distinct sounds. His sense of understanding and awareness is very high as well. He's the gung-ho one who usually doesn't cry after a fall and learns how to skate scoot by observation. He remembers routes and has clear preferences on where he wants to go and what books he wants to read. He also understands us in English, Chinese and even Hokkien for many things though he can't quite speak many words yet.

Overall, I'm thankful that they love each other though they still fight over toys from time to time.

For 2018,  I wish that everyone in family will have good health  , and I hope Cayson loves and thrives in preschool , and Cayen enjoys the rest of his preschool before graduating into Primary school.
