Artsy weekend

We had a basketballer mummy gathering at Art Museum last Sat. The kids were given instructions to create an artwork of their family with parental guidance. However, Cayen as usual didn't want my help , he wanted to do it his way. Hence, his piece was quite different.

Thereafter, we had lunch at Dome before some of us proceeded to the National Museum for the indoor playground. However, as luck would have it, it was closed for renovation ! We have been so many times but they had to be close when I was trying to show Don Don. Anyway, we chanced upon another exhibition which had a room full of big balloons! The kids were so excited and played in there for so long - they didn't want to leave.

Then, we came across another exhibit where one could bring a piece home as well.. And so we did. The pictures were so cute ! All art should be so fun! And boy did we have a good time colouring it at home too.

Next day was another good day as we went to Huber's for breakfast as suggested by Godma as it boasted a good playground. Initially Cayen was apprehensive about some of the stations like the rope climbing one as it was shaky. However, his confidence and steadiness climbed with every climb and by the third try, he proudly exclaimed that he has made the "master" level "starter".. I.e. Made the difficult level feel easy .. He was mightily pleased. And after I introduced him to the swing , he was also asking for me to go higher . At this juncture, it struck me that he really hadn't been to many outdoor playgrounds much and he should. But thankfully his school playgrounds and gym lessons have made him more confident and would actually try the different stations (I am quite sure he wouldn't be so gung-ho same time last year). Anyway, he was also quite proud to have conquered the stations even though they were labelled 5-12 years old.. Haha.

All the climbing was good workout as he devoured his breakfast quickly before asking to go back to the playground again.

After an exhausting morning (for me), we decided to go to the National Gallery as it was still early and we have yet to explore the children's playground there. It turned out to be an awesome choice as they have great interactive play there across many stations ... Including a clay making session. We didn't manage to cover all rooms but you can be sure we'll be back again.

What's notable about this session was also that he volunteeraily shared his Pocky snacks with a little girl at the cafe .. Seems like his ability to share has improved quite a bit .
