Multiparenting Cayen & Cayson

Me and the kiddos redeemed our miles and tagged along Da on his work trip over the National Day weekend. This is the first time we travelled two on two by plane as my mum usually joins us. The flight there was fairly smooth as Cayson managed to sleep through most of it. Cayen napped sfor a short while but awakened as he couldn’t find a comfortable position. Thanks to all my preparations, he doodled on his journal , game book and eventually I even read all the safety instructions.  As we took a morning flight, day 1 was spent mainly eating very good local food, courtesy of our very kind neighbours / friends who had helped planned the trip’s itinerary and food menus.  Day 2 was zoo day at Chimelong. It was an early morning flight so I reached earlier and shopped a little. I had injured my wrist a few days ago and was looking for a pharmacy selling Tiger Balm or Salon Pas but couldn't locate but I found them in a souvenir shop instead. With advice from the friendly salesgirl, I was introduced to another local brand that is presumably more effective. Chatted with her a little and ended up buying. She asked if I'm Singaporean and I said yes. She's a little surprised and shared with me that the Singaporeans that she's come across tend to be a bit aloof or colder but I'm different (she's not local). So she now had a new view of Singaporeans. I told her that perhaps it's  due to the stressful pace of life and perhaps fatigue that everyone might have been a bit colder. It's my first business trip overseas in a long while. So, I have lots of insights on various matters.  Movies  Rewarded myself with the famous La La Land after doing all my required pre-reading. This movie is  highly recommended if you are into dreams and all that jazz. Watching it reminds me that actually I like watching movies , just that I haven't watched such interesting, stirring ones in a while. Also, when I am watching on a plane, I don't have that nagging feeling that I'm prioritising the two-hour movie over my kids, so that felt good too.  On my return flight, I squeezed in the classic Wall Street, Mr Church (incidentally with some jazz element too), and one episode of Sex & the City. For a fuss free holiday with kids nearby, Legoland is always my preferred choice. This time, trip was made more fun as we travelled with Becky and family. And it's also the first time we stayed at Legoland hotel so there's a lot to look forward to. Overall, hotel is fun compared to Hotel Jen that we usually stayed in because there's lots of Lego and a puzzle to solve, with a bunk bed and TV for kids in the family room. And outside the main restaurant and in the lobby, there's mini and giant Lego blocks to keep kids busy for the whole day.  Travelling on weekdays also meant that you get express  path for all rides/attractions  at Legoland and Hello Kitty and Thomas the Train land, with only a one hour commute door to door from home to Legoland hotel in a chartered 7 seater.
