Since the advent of Grab and Uber, i didn't have to complain anymore about the appalling services of taxis where they will pick and choose passengers during peak hours. In fact, apart from having a good supply of cars and convenience of booking from an app, cost has been lowered since Grabcars costs about 10-30% less than taxis, depending on distance, since they don't have all kinds of surcharges (peak hour, CBD etc). Furthermore, fare is predefined and fixed upfront so you need not fear cost escalations due to traffic jams. Lastly, all these fares you charge to credit card means no more digging for change and accumulating a lot more card reward points or rebates. Ok, I'm a hoarder. I don't like to throw away things in good condition no matter how infrequently I use them. This is because I truly believe they will come in handy one day. So I keep primary school and secondary school essays, clothes from 20 years ago (Cox I believe one day I will fit into them again) ,  ribbons, empty gift boxes & used wrapping paper (Cox I want to recycle them) and of course generally any gifts from anyone. Today, I had a breakthrough - I decided to sell a few of my bags as they were in very bad condition and I actually did. This is particularly tough as all these have sentimental value i.e. birthday gifts from Da or was bought during our honeymoon. I have also liked music but given the lack of opportunity to tune in , sometimes it's hard to get a little bit into our life. That day when we went back to high school for the homecoming fair, we ran into a sticky situation. When we decided to adjourn to the next location, my friend's hubby found a snake crawling into car ! He didn't see the head but saw only the second half of the body and it was long enough. And he couldn't locate it after that.  We were discussing who to call.. Is it the police, civil defence or something ? Finally, he managed to contact someone from Acre and they arrived in ten minutes.  It was then that he realised they are a non profit organisation who helps to rescue these Animals from such situations, to avoid them from being killed in the process by pest busters or by other humans. I had been very traumatized last month since the advent of giant moths in Singapore in May and was very glad when I could finally stop looking at every corner before I enter a corridor or go into a lift.  Just as I thought the tidal wave of moths has receded, I was rudely shocked over the weekend that they seem to be back again. Unfortunately, this time round, there was yet another victim of a moth in my living room - its hauntingly beautiful wing was torn. I have little doubt that it's the act of the cats as this is not their first conquest. However, this is the only one that has stayed alive after a fight.
