I seldom watch dramas , but the advert on instagram for this show led me to watch it as I had thought it was some kind of horror show.  Soon it became clear that it's not the ghost type of horror show. However, due to the rather graphic contents of certain scenes and how the storyline evolved, it was quite horrifying or disturbing somehow, especially to me as a parent.  I am particularly disturbed by how the parents didn't and couldn't have known how disturbed she was and they only knew way too late. And how bullying could be so serious in schools - hope it's a US thing only.  Despite the bad press the show may have gotten thus far, I actually encourage parents with teenager kids to watch it because I think it's quite insightful to us as parents to try to see what are the warning signs that a kid may need help and what's bothering them. It's my first business trip overseas in a long while. So, I have lots of insights on various matters.  Movies  Rewarded myself with the famous La La Land after doing all my required pre-reading. This movie is  highly recommended if you are into dreams and all that jazz. Watching it reminds me that actually I like watching movies , just that I haven't watched such interesting, stirring ones in a while. Also, when I am watching on a plane, I don't have that nagging feeling that I'm prioritising the two-hour movie over my kids, so that felt good too.  On my return flight, I squeezed in the classic Wall Street, Mr Church (incidentally with some jazz element too), and one episode of Sex & the City. He had been sick for the last few weeks -hence, we all feared for the worst but somehow we still hoped he could make it till National Day. When I saw the news on Mon morning , the real sense of loss started to sink in. I tuned in to radio at 8am and heard the speech by Lee Hsien Loong as our Prime Minister who is also his son. Usually I don't chat much on a plane , especially not when travelling for work as I would be trying to do some reading or chill.  This time, it's not very different, at least initially.  My neighbour next to me started chatting with me and I soon learned that she is from Henan and her daughter is working in Singapore. She shared with me that her daughter got married to someone from Holland and wedding took place in Bali.
