Day at the museum

The original plan was to go to Botanical Gardens but the weather was so hot that the plan didn't make it past the time of taxi arrival.

So back up plan is to go to the National Art Museum where they have a lot of kids activities given the June holidays.

There is also a wok to let kids pretend to cook like a hawker. And there's also this laser pointing game inside a dark room that you can "paint" on the screen.

There is a newly opened area for kids on the third floor and there were many interactive games there. Cayen's favourites were the one involving matching shapes/ pictures , and also moving ingredients (magnets) to form a Singapore dish. Think chicken wing, chilli , rice, egg to make nasi lemak for example. What struck me during the game was how resourceful these little toddlers can be. When the magnet was too strong for Cayen to pluck, he actually pulled it to the edge of the board so the magnet slides off - I was pretty impressed. When there is a will, there is a way !

Love these intricate cuttings .. They are all mounted within toilet rolls !

After 1 plus hour of running around, Cayen finally feel asleep and I got some time to view the exhibitions I wanted to see. Spent some time viewing Genesis , an amazing set of black and white photography that's bound to inspire awe and hopefully action as well. My pirated photos of the photos don't do it justice. But I just took it , hoping to inspire some of you to go see it. It will be worth the while. So bring your kids, educate them and help them appreciate the world for what it is and how we can do our part in our every day life.

Save our world and all her beauty. For our kids and their kids to come.
