Multiparenting Cayen & Cayson

Saturday: Brought my mum to watch the local movie production  我是孝子  , Filial Piety as I thought it is quite apt for a Mother's Day weekend.  We caught the 1st movie at GV Plaza Singapura at 12.05pm and strangely the theatre was rather empty, only 12-13 seats occupied. Maybe it was too early and too near lunch time. Nonetheless, the show started off as a gameshow where contestants would compete to who is the most filial, winner would take home $1 million dollars. To be honest, I didn't really like the gameshow format as it was not very natural and overall the pace was a bit slow for the first 30-45 minutes. However, I found myself sitting up and watching very intently as the plot deepens. Thought Ann Kok and Christopher Lee's acting were quite convincing. At the final stage, I find myself so touched that I couldn't help tearing a little. I think my mum did as well. Her review of the movie was that " wah, a lot of hokkien hor, not bad not bad".  So ov...

On 9th May, Cayen was officially 19 months ! He started the school day with full marks. He didn't have any resistance in going into the classroom at all, in fact he walked in and waved to teachers and children just as though he's running for elections ... I felt so happy! However, unfortunately by noon, ah Pa had received an official complaint from the teacher .. Apparently, Cayen's comfort with school now also means that his "true colours" are emerging (原形毕露）..He would now go around the room and throw things on the place and overturn the dustbins ! I would imagine that for most people, the first reaction after hearing the feedback would be to apologise to the teacher for the trouble making in school. However, cheeky Ah Pa decided to turn the tables on the teacher by asking if this is something that they can handle .. The teacher was of course a bit surprised but added quickly that we should have the confidence in the school. I certainly hope that they can ...

Monday: He went to school and he only cried a little when they dropped him. According to teacher, he was a good boy for the rest of the day ..didn't cry, played happily and even joined the class activity! Ad no, he didn't sleep in class either. However, he did get a little upset when he finished his lunch at noon, carried his bag and Ah Pa and Grandma were late to pick him up.   I would like to think that my draw-and-tell or blog-and-tell every day since last week worked because according to my narration, at 12 noon, Cayen eats lunch, it's hot so Cayen blows, and then Ah Pa and Grandma and Grandpa will all come and pick him up.  Tuesday=scrambled egg days: Apparently Cayen had 3 helpings of egg! I have been to a few cafés with a vintage setup but this beats them all with their variety of display. It's not difficult to feel like I might be in a Singapore museum. The stuff in there were really old school, from the rattan chairs to the many Vespa on display. With the chandeliers hanging along the bar, there's a sense of eclectic chic. Also, as the cafe was tucked amongst greenery, the ambience is also rather unique : vintage meets nature. Their drinks menu also features local Food and Drinks (think Bandung, Milo dinosaur, lemon barley, nasi lemak) favourites on top of the usual western fare. However, do note that the price tag are going to be quite hefty for such local delights. For instance, I had a mixed fruit juice and it costs $12. Da had a milo milk shake and it costs around $6.
