What happens If your kid insists on wearing your not so clean slippers?

You distract him with a game of design with new bedroom slippers.. 

Left: he said it was a TV on wheels ... 
Right: it started out as a cockroach and then it's not clear anymore. 
He wanted to draw ah Pa's name too .. And added some wedges inside ...

We went for curriculum updates last week for Cayson and the week before for Cayen. Bumped into the English teacher who told me that Cayen eats his lunch very well including vegetables (doesn't sound like him at all). She also mentioned that Cayen likes to test boundary. Recent case in point , teacher would ask the children to not talk in the toilet as it could be noisy for the children in the adjacent classroom. As he wasn't allowed to talk, he purposely started singing instead. Then our discussion was cut short and I wondered how the teacher responded to his singing eventually.  Nonetheless , this is one of the many instances where Cayen would not do things the conventional way. In Cantonese, I might even call him "Seng Mok" (savvy). For instance , previously , he was spotted sipping lime cordial juice on a plate -he has helped himself at the dispenser without my knowledge . Cayen first overnight camp

I think I’m starting to have an inkling on what tough it will be to send my boys off to army in future. Sending him to a 4 night camp was already quite a daunting experience.  I was worried for him on so many fronts. How would he wake up in the morning if he couldn’t hear the alarm? How would he get along with three stranger roommates? How would he work in a big team for the hackathon when he’s amongst the youngest in the camp at 10 years (think the age range is from 10-18). How would he handle the laptop, iPad and iPhone without losing them? Would he know how to sign on to wifi? Lots of questions on my mind.  Well, here was how the days went last week :  Tuesday After our breakfast together, we went him off to D resort where all the kids will be staying. They will be ferried to NUS on a daily basis thereafter for their activities. I gave him a quick low down on how to use the phone and WhatsApp just in case since he doesn’t have a phone and only used it to play games....

Short National Day Trip

Me and the kiddos redeemed our miles and tagged along Da on his work trip over the National Day weekend. This is the first time we travelled two on two by plane as my mum usually joins us. The flight there was fairly smooth as Cayson managed to sleep through most of it. Cayen napped sfor a short while but awakened as he couldn’t find a comfortable position. Thanks to all my preparations, he doodled on his journal , game book and eventually I even read all the safety instructions.  As we took a morning flight, day 1 was spent mainly eating very good local food, courtesy of our very kind neighbours / friends who had helped planned the trip’s itinerary and food menus.  Day 2 was zoo day at Chimelong. It was a good zoo , complete with dinosaurs. Cayen accused me of lying that dinos are extinct as he’s seeing them now. Haha.
