19 months old

On 9th May, Cayen was officially 19 months ! He started the school day with full marks. He didn't have any resistance in going into the classroom at all, in fact he walked in and waved to teachers and children just as though he's running for elections ... I felt so happy!

However, unfortunately by noon, ah Pa had received an official complaint from the teacher .. Apparently, Cayen's comfort with school now also means that his "true colours" are emerging (原形毕露)..He would now go around the room and throw things on the place and overturn the dustbins !

I would imagine that for most people, the first reaction after hearing the feedback would be to apologise to the teacher for the trouble making in school.

However, cheeky Ah Pa decided to turn the tables on the teacher by asking if this is something that they can handle .. The teacher was of course a bit surprised but added quickly that we should have the confidence in the school. I certainly hope that they can do something about it.

At home, my trick is to ask him to "慢慢放” every time he throws something with some initial success and I have also just introduced the "Naughty Corner" for repeat offences. Let's see how it works.

Before dinner, Cayen was running around the UoB plaza around, refusing to be held. So a good intentioned stranger lady tried to tease him by asking him to go with her (she knew Grandma was with him), he refused in hokkien dialect as usual "麦麦”. So the lady told him in hokkien too .. If you don't want, then you better let Grandma carry else people will carry you away (带你去卖).

Anyway, everyone is in that area as
I propose to try this highly rated hotpot at Boat Quay.

Cuisine Master Hot Pot
68 Boat Quay

Friends would know that I'm not usually a big fan of hotpot , especially buffet hotpot as I feel like I am obligated to eat a lot to make my money's worth and I don't really take stuff like prawns etc. And usually food quality is questionable for such buffets.

In this case, this is ala carte hot pot with very high quality ingredients and soup. For instance , if you want, there's even abalone, double boiled chicken soup base, mushroom soup (chinese style) and many varieties of meat.

We also tried the four coloured noodles that was very well done because it doesn't turn the soup chalky unlike usual noodles.

For families with children, this is also great as the cooking is all done by the server so we can focus our attention our feeding the kids. And did I mention Cayen Loves the soup .. He kept on asking more and more repeat helpings. I was inclined to give it to him as the menu mentioned that everything is MSG free. (But strangely I feel very thirsty after the dinner)

Also, the restaurant doesn't have many tables and mostly are partitioned so it's rather private too.

Overall, it's not cheap as we paid about 40 bucks each and portions are not that big.. But I think very bite us worth it as everything is generally very fresh and exquisite. So yes, I will come back again.

For this month only, if you order from the set menu (around 79 per pax), mother eats free. So it's probably a very time to try this month.
