Fun trip at Legoland & Hello Kitty / Thomas the Train land

For a fuss free holiday with kids nearby, Legoland is always my preferred choice. This time, trip was made more fun as we travelled with Becky and family. And it's also the first time we stayed at Legoland hotel so there's a lot to look forward to.

Overall, hotel is fun compared to Hotel Jen that we usually stayed in because there's lots of Lego and a puzzle to solve, with a bunk bed and TV for kids in the family room. And outside the main restaurant and in the lobby, there's mini and giant Lego blocks to keep kids busy for the whole day. 

Travelling on weekdays also meant that you get express path for all rides/attractions  at Legoland and Hello Kitty and Thomas the Train land, with only a one hour commute door to door from home to Legoland hotel in a chartered 7 seater.

I was also impressed by the buffet spread that has fun kids' stuff like making your own pizza, some balloon sculpturing  , lots of desserts. 

According to Sarah and Cayen, they want to stay there forever ... I can imagine why .. 

What I found heartening was that Cayen was able to share his toys his Sarah and even helped her to build the Lego structures.. Lego really helps to build teamwork. He also fended her from this older kid who wanted to hit them..(I didn't realise it initially as I only saw the aftermath when Cayen was fighting with him over the Lego .. And thought he was unwilling to share again. ) While Cayen was still mischievous as usual, but there's a slight improvement overall as least when it comes to sharing and taking turns. 

Anyway, here's some tips if you want to maximise your savings at Legoland ! 

- Book at Expedia with UOB cards for  10% discount for Legoland hotel minimum two nights stay.
- Flash Maybank Family Card for 35% off all tickets (including children and seniors tickets that already enjoy lower rates). This is a good option unless you are Legoland hotel guests and you think you will like to have multiple access to both the dry and wet theme parks for two days , there's a hotel guest special where you can get the two day pass for the price of one. 

Sometimes this Maybank card gives discounts off Legoland hotels too but it's relatively less common.

We went for curriculum updates last week for Cayson and the week before for Cayen. Bumped into the English teacher who told me that Cayen eats his lunch very well including vegetables (doesn't sound like him at all). She also mentioned that Cayen likes to test boundary. Recent case in point , teacher would ask the children to not talk in the toilet as it could be noisy for the children in the adjacent classroom. As he wasn't allowed to talk, he purposely started singing instead. Feedback from teachers

As part of the regular meet the parent session, I joined Cayson to make ice cream. Think I must be the only one who managed to tear two plastics bags in a row due to vigorous shaking. It’s good fun as Cayson tried his hand at making ice cream from Meiji strawberry milk.  Teacher’s feedback on him is still good as usual as he’s still quite an obedient and easy going kid though she did remark that he’s picky with some food like vegetables now. And whilst he’s 99% agreeable in the past, he’s been more prone to his own opinion (I read it as trying to get his way). And sometimes he followed his classmates’ action of scribbling away randomly during colouring when he used to colour carefully within the lines. Observations were quite in line with what we see at home. Recently he would cry when he doesn’t get his way. For instance, we were playing snakes and ladders and he started crying when I made him slide down when he hit a snake. He kept screaming “I want to win”. Later on, he proceeded to

Being a hassle-free type of mother who needs to go back to work after maternity leave, and also one who likes a good bargain, these are the things I personally find very useful, practical & cost saving. 1.
